Public Affairs Research Institute

PARI aims to contribute towards a more effective and accountable state through research and advocacy work. They focus on programmes of research: Local Governance, State Reform, Local Government, Energy and Society, Organisational and Institutional Studies. Regarding State Reform, PARI’s proposals focus on (a) professionalising appointments in the public administration and criminal justice system and developing greater checks and balances in recruitment and appointment regimes to reduce the undue influence of politics on the administration, and (b) reforming public procurement.
