The Words Open Worlds (WOW) Spelling festival is the largest spelling festival in the country and is hosted in all nine provinces across almost 1 000 schools for Afrikaans, English Additional Language and Xhosa languages. The festival consists of various levels including internal school festivals, circuit festivals, district festivals, provincial festivals and the National Festival where provincial winners compete at the WOW Gala event held at Stellenbosch University.
The Words Open Worlds (WOW) Telfees wants to use numeracy to broaden learners’ perspectives, identify and develop potential and possibilities, and also empower learners and teachers.
Tygerberg International Eisteddfod is an annual Eisteddfod in the Western Cape. The donation from Millennium Trust will be used to sponsor disadvantaged choirs to participate at the Eisteddfod.
